BPF investigation
The BPF (Industry Pension Fund) investigation is an important part of the pension advisory process. The BPF investigation is important when extending or amending an existing pension scheme as well as when setting up a new pension scheme. It should always be investigated here whether a compulsory regulation applies to the employer.
The BPF investigation is best started when starting work for a new client. It is very important to find out as early as possible whether there is an obligation to join a BPF. If there is a compulsory affiliation, a BPF can retroactively realise affiliation and claim the overdue pension contributions. This often involves hefty sums. If this test has not yet been performed for the client, our advice is to include it in the file. This is to avoid unpleasant surprises.
With our BPF investigation we offer the following:
- Insight into any obligation to join a BPF
- Assistance with possible affiliation
- Guidance for a possible dispensation/exemption
- Insight into adding an additional scheme to the compulsory BPF scheme, if necessary.
